There should be homework for second-year students

"There should be homework for second-year students"

University life is quite challenging and fun. All pupils are supposed to attend lecture and get many tasks to complete before the deadline. Sophomores also have to go through the process of learning in order to gain knowledge or improve skills, and homework has become one part of students’ life. Therefore, second-year students should receive homework due to three main reasons.
Homework should be provided to sophomores because homework gives students another chance to ensure they understand class materials. When students study at school, they cannot catch up all part of the lesson that teachers have taught, so homework is given to learners to confirm if they understand the lessons. Moreover, homework summarizes all the main points, and it is easy for students to review for exams. In Literature Study, teacher assigns students to summarize the story from many pages to only one paragraph. After students complete their task, they will understand the story well. Thus, providing homework to students is the best way to ensure they understand what they have leaned.
Another reason that second-year students should receive homework, for homework helps the teacher to know what students’ ability. Teachers cannot be sure that their teaching can reach all the students in the class, so homework is like a material to see their ability. It is very important for teachers to know the students’ strengths and weaknesses, he or she can change the teaching style to match with the standard of students’ understanding. For instance, math teachers giving homework to students, as a result, every one of them has done well on arithmetic; however, their understanding of geometric is very worst. As we can see from the example, the teacher could change or create the new style of teaching by focusing more on geometric. Therefore, teachers and students can work together to improve students’ understanding through homework.
There should be homework for students who study in year two as doing homework is a great way to develop students’ responsibilities. When students have to do their homework on due dates, it’s a big deal to make sure that they must not submit assignments after deadline. Achieving the academic goal requires high responsibility, and students must do even the things they don’t want to do, or they hate. Homework causes pupils to take direct problems and solve them or determine which way they can complete different projects to achieve the best results, and students are more likely to have effective time management along the way because they don’t study only one subject, they study more than three subjects,
so they will manage and decide which one should be done first and which one is next in order to meet the requirement of the deadline.
The opponents might say that there should be no homework for second-year students because they do not have enough time to complete the homework. Most of them are doing two majoring, and some also have a part-time job to do at the same time, so they do not have enough time to do homework. However, as we have already mentioned the above points, time is not a big deal since no one is too busy all the time. They need to be more responsible for their own obligations. Getting many things to do is a good chance for sophomores, for they can practice their time management skill. The better they are at time managing, the more time they get to finish their tasks on time. At the same time, they need to learn to have high responsibilities for what they are supposed to get done.
In short, there should be homework for sophomores since homework provides a chance to understand the lessons, to cooperate effectively with teachers, and to become more responsible. Pupils have to work hard to build a good habit for their life. The more efforts they put in something, the more success they get. Without homework, university life will be too easy and boring.
